County Hazard Mitigation Plans
11/17/2025

County Hazard Mitigation Plans play a vital role in protecting our communities. They provide critical insight that helps reduce risks, strengthen resilience before disaster strikes, and—most importantly—save lives. The steps we are taking in this process will better position us to protect people and property throughout Burleson County. By participating in this planning effort, our county also remains eligible for disaster mitigation grants. This funding is especially important for a rural county like ours, as it supports essential projects and improvements that safeguard our resources and prepare us for the future. This collaborative process will also enhance community preparedness and improve coordination in decision-making before and during emergencies.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan will guide a multiyear strategy that enables us to manage risks sustainably over time, rather than simply reacting to individual events. Preparedness means taking action today so our community can remain strong for the challenges of tomorrow. Effective resilience is not built in the moment of disaster—it is built now, together, through thoughtful planning, protection, and preparation for the future of our great county.

Community resilience is a shared responsibility, and we encourage everyone to join us in taking these important steps forward.
